Do I need to have a licence to own reptiles in Austrlia?

It is a requirement to have an active reptile licence to own reptiles in Australia. 

There are different licensing requirements throughout Australia they are dependent on what state you live in. We are based in QLD. However, we have linked relevant license requirements for each state below.  We are happy to help anytime with reptile questions. 

 

Some states do not require a license for basic-level reptiles like Blue Tongue Lizards, Bearded Dragons and Eastern Water Dragons etc. Here in QLD, all reptiles require a license to own, if you have any questions regarding your state’s licensing requirements it’s advised to seek information from your states Parks & Wildlife departments.

How to apply for a Reptile Licence

We have made purchasing a reptile very easy here at Australian Reptile Sales and Supplies. We provide you with all of the information needed to apply for a QLD Reptile Licence. This takes you directly to the QLD Government website to check if you are eligible and start the application today. 

Applying for a Reptile Licence outside of QLD

Australian Reptile Sales and Supplies sell reptiles to current reptile licence holders only. We have many years of breeding up our sleeves and take high priorty in ensuring all of our reptiles go to good homes and follow the legal requirements for any reptile pet owners. Here is a link to all of the other states across Australia on how to apply for the correct licensing. You will not see anything for Tasmania as they do not allow any reptiles in or out. Everywhere else in Australia we have you covered.
